THE mass vaccination facility at the Killarney Sports and Leisure Centre will have 25 separate vaccination booths and each one will facilitate eight people every hour, it has been confirmed.
Cllr Michael Gleeson was informed at a virtual meeting of the HSE South yesterday that the centres in Killarney and Tralee are almost in order physically for the process of vaccination
A total of 200 per hour will be seen in each centre and centres and they will remain open for 10 hours per day, seven days of the week. The daily vaccination total will be 2,000 people.
Cllr Gleeson said people will be asked to book their appointment time online and the HSE will make announcements in due course regarding when booking can begin with advice also for people who do not have an online booking facility.
People with disabilities who unable to travel will be vaccinated in their home by arrangement.
“Every effort is being made to ensure that every person will afforded the opportunity to get vaccinated. It is imperative, in the interest of fairness to all, that each person would adhere strictly to the appointment time,” Cll rGleeson said.
“The programme should commence in the very near future and I extend best wishes to all,” he said.
