Killarney Judo Club, in partnership with Cork City Judo Club, hosted the annual Munster Open on Sunday with local coach Tim Kelly as tournament director.
The event hosted 200 entries from across Ireland and the United Kingdom with more than 600 fights on the day.
For Killarney Judo Club, there were 27 members of the club competing and displaying a range of spectacular throws throughout the day.
Overall, Killarney won an impressive seven gold medals, eight silver and 12 bronze.
“It was a fantastic performance as the members gear up to the All-Ireland championships in Dublin next month,” said Tim Kelly.
With an eye towards the future, it is hoped to make use of the Derreen Sports Centre project in Killarney to potentially host the Munster Open once the building is completed.
