ANOTHER five deaths and 423 confirmed cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this Wednesday with less than five positive tests returned in Kerry.
The Health Protection Surveillance Centre said four of these death occurred this month with one dating back to February.
There have now been 4,732 Covid-19 related fatalities with the number of known cases rising to 239,325.
Early this morning 232 patients were in hospital due to the virus with 56 in intensive care. There have been 13 additional admissions to hospital due to the pandemic in the past 24 hours.
Of the cases notified today, 219 are male and 201 are female with 73 per cent under 45 years of age. The median age of those affected is 30.
Of the newly diagnosed cases, 199 are in Dublin, 41 in Kildare, 23 in Meath, 20 in Galway and 18 in Westmeath with the remaining 122 spread across 19 other counties.
There have been 41 new cases of the disease confirmed in Kerry in the past 14 days.
