86 per cent of graduates secure work within six months

This is a globally recognised diploma for career starters and career changers who wish to qualify as a work-ready software developer in just 12 weeks

AN opportunity to obtain a software development diploma qualification with great prospects of securing employment on completion is being offered free of charge by the Kerry ETB Training Centre in association with the Code Institute.

Tuition fees are normally €8,900 per student but the 14 places available on this course, which starts on May 27 in Tralee, are free of charge.

In a first for Kerry, the accelerated bootcamp programme is the only classroom version of the highly acclaimed course run outside of Dublin and employment prospects are high with 86 per cent of Code Institute graduates finding full time work within six months of qualification.

This is a globally recognised diploma for career starters and career changers who wish to qualify as a work-ready software developer in just 12 weeks. Successful applicants will complete a five-day coding challenge and recruitment interview and places are being filled on a first come, first served basis.

Students can come from any background as the course is designed to take people from little or no knowledge of coding to job ready software developer. The ideal student will have attempted one of the free coding course online tools, like Udemy or Code Academy as that will show a previous desire to learn to become a coder.

The first round of interviews for those who have successfully passed the five-day coding challenge will take place next week with another round scheduled for early May. Apply online: http://kerryetbtrainingcentre.ie/course/software-dev-full-stack/
