Pat O’Shea yet again proved his undoubted coaching calibre when guiding Dr Crokes to the County League title in remarkable fashion at the weekend as they finished the entire campaign unbeaten.

The former Kerry boss – who guided Crokes to the All-Ireland Club Championship crown in 2018 – certainly got the best out of his squad since returning to the helm with the first team this season and to finish with 11 straight wins from 11 outings is quite an accomplishment.

Their final game saw them register a comfortable 2-19 to 1-11 victory over Rathmore at Lewis Road with 10 different players getting their names on the scoresheet.

First half goals from Mark O’Shea and Cian McMahon ensured that Crokes took control of the game from early on.

Leading 2-9 to 0-6 at half-time, it was always going to be a difficult task for Rathmore and, as the game wore on, the task proved impossible as Crokes were superior in all sectors.

Captain David Naughton accepted the County League trophy at full-time.

Killarney Legion, meanwhile secured their topflight status for next season with a good 1-14 to 0-8 win against Glenflesk, the goal coming in the first half from Peter McCarthy.
