THEY’VE been casting their lines far and wide in aid of worthy causes for the past three decades and the Lough Lein anglers did so again on Sunday on the Lakes of Killarney.

The 31st annual open Lough Lein Anglers open wet fly charity fly fishing competition was held in aid of Acquired Brain Injury Ireland and Irish Pilgrimage Trust.

To date the charity day has raised over €200,000 for various charities and this year’s event helped enormously for the two chosen charities.

The action got 10.30am and the fishing continued until 5.30pm on Sunday with over €850 worth of prizes.
