A HIGH percentage of vehicles passing through Ballycasheen Road, close to the Mill Road and Rookery Road junctions, was exceeding the speed limit, a traffic survey conducted by Kerry County Council confirmed.
In an effort to control the problem the local authority erected a speed indicator sign but there are no plans to provide ramps at the location, officials have said.
Cllr Maura Healy-Rae had asked for ramps to be installed as per the residents’ request but the council said it would carry out another speed survey to determine if any change has occurred.
The previous survey was conducted between February 27 and March 4.
