A Code Level Orange wind warning will come into force from 10 o’clock tonight and it will continue until 8.00am on Wednesday.
Northwest winds increase to mean speeds of 65 to 75 km/h with gusts of 110 to 130km/h in exposed areas and near coasts.
Property owners to take the necessary precautions and to ensure unsecured property, such as wheelie bins and other outside materials, are made safe.

Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians, meanwhile, have been urged to be on the alert for falling branches and debris on the roads.
