A CELEBRATION to mark two generations of one Killarney family’s 75 years in business on the same street is being planned for later this month.

Next generation: Brian de Staic ad Máiréad (nee Mullins)

Tom and Mary Mullins opened their grocery store business on High Street in the early 1940s and now their daughter Máiréad and her husband, master jeweler Brian de Staic, are continuing the commercial tradition with their own successful business on the same street.

To mark the landmark 75th birthday they are hosting a party in The Sportsman’s Bar – which is part of the same premises – on Friday, April 26 with a buffet and bubbles, ceol and craic for old friends and new.

And to add a very special touch to the occasion, Brian will officially launch his new Cill Áirne jewellery collection to add an extra dimension to the celebration.
