AN annual 32 card drive, held in memory of avid cards enthusiast Jack O’Leary, has reached a thrilling climax in Kilcummin.
The Jack Connie 31 event is held in memory of Jack O’Leary and this year’s tournament began in January before it was eventually whittled down to the final eight players in the Village Inn, Kilcummin.
It was a very close final with Con Lynch and Rob Kerins first to make it to seven games. Jimmy Devane played a pivotal role in the organisation of the competition and Marian Collins, proprietor of the Village Inn, hosts and sponsors the competition annually.
The winners were presented with inscribed glass trophies and each of the finalists received a cash prize.
