Casey and Nation both injured in challenge game

Daithi Casey: injured

WITH GAA action about to resume after a lengthy lay-off, Killarney club Dr Crokes has been dealt a very severe blow with influential midfielder Daithi Casey sustaining a serious injury that will rule him out of action for some time.

The former Kerry senior panel member badly damaged his knee and had to be stretched off the field in a challenge game against Cork side Nemo Rangers.

In the same game, which was ended prematurely by the referee, Nemo star Eoin Nation is understood to have sustained a broken leg and a damaged shoulder.

The Dr Crokes club described the injury sustained by Nation as “horrific”.
