Cash pours in after coffee morning

Simone Leahy, Emer Corridan, Cahernane Hotel and Nicola Browne with Emilie Leahy and Aoibhín Browne and the cheque for Down Syndrome Kerry

A BRILLIANTLY supported fundraising coffee morning in Killarney, in aid of Down Syndrome Kerry, has raised an incredible €8,639 for the cause.

The event was hosted by the Cahernane House Hotel, Killarney to mark World Down Syndrome Day and patrons were invited to wear “mad odd socks” to add to the fun.

Organised by Simone Leahy and Nicola Browne, they have now received the last of the donations and they were delighted to have raised such a wonderful amount for such a great cause.

Nicola and Simone have issued a word of thanks to general manager Emer Corridan and all the staff at the Cahernane Hotel, O’Carroll Cakes and to all those who sponsored spot prizes and donated generously to the coffee morning.

All funds raised will be utilised in Kerry and as the local branch of Down Syndrome Ireland  receives no government funding. all donations are essential to provide much needed services within the county.
