FOOD lovers in Killarney will have an opportunity to celebrate the ancient festival of Bealtaine at a special evening of Irish food and folklore at Danú Restaurant at The Brehon.
Head chef Chad Byrne and his team have a created a sumptuous five-course menu from seasonal produce to celebrate the end of winter and the introduction of Danú’s new summer menu which will be unveiled on Monday night next.
Special guests will include local suppliers and artisans whose produce forms the basis of Danú’s summer menu as well as members of the Millstreet Comhaltas group who will perform a medley of summer steps and airs.
“The beginning of summer is a very exciting time in the kitchen. Irish produce and flavours really flourish at this time of year and it is a pleasure to create dishes that harness the taste of summer,” said Chad Byrne.
The festival of Bealtaine will be celebrate at Danú Restaurant on Monday night. The five course menu costs €45 per person and reservations can be made by phoning 064-6630700.
