Kerry’s fashion designer to the stars, Don O’Neill, will be a celebrity guest judge in a new television series based on a revolutionary fashion competition that challenges six talented designers to transform second-hand and recycled materials into high fashion masterpieces.
The TG4 series, Síorstíl, will be hosted by Sinéad Ní Uallacháin and judged by Moya Doogan and Rónán Ó Dálaigh.
Sinéad is a radio and television broadcaster who hails from the West Kerry Gaeltacht. She has worked in various roles with RTÉ for over 16 years and she is currently a continuity announcer and reporter for the Ray D’Arcy Show on RTÉ Radio 1.
Sinéad also presents the award-winning podcast and radio show Beo ar Éigean with colleagues Siún Ní Dhuinn and Áine Ní Bhreisleáin.
She has presented shows on TG4, including the travel series Beidh mé ar Ais and the documentary PEIG, in which she explored the legacy of the Blasket Island storyteller Peig Sayers and re-examined the nation’s relationship with her.
In each episode of Síorstíl, contestants face different design challenges that test their skills in sustainability, innovation and style. The grand prize goes to the designer who can best demonstrate the transformative power of repurposed materials while maintaining the creative flair needed for high fashion.
Alongside the regular judging panel, each episode features a guest judge connected to the challenge, including notable figures like Ciara Ní É, Bláthnaid O’Donoghue, Sexy Tadhg, Jade Pepper, Fionnuala Jay and Ballyhgeigue native Don O’Neill.
The first of six 30-minute episodes will air on January 15 at 8.30pm.
