KILLARNEY Rugby Football Club has honoured its outstanding young performers and achievers.
At the annual Youths Awards ceremony in the Killarney Oaks Hotel on Friday night, players, families, coaches and guests heard Youths Manager Tom Campbell and Club President Mike Fuller congratulating all involved on completing what was a tough season, particularly the players and coaches for their hard work.
Shane Tydings, a KRFC clubman and member of the Munster Association of Referees, discussed rugby from a referee’s perspective and stressed that officials are facilitators and are not there to catch players out.
The award winners on the night were:
* U14: Best Newcomer: Padraig Talbot, Most Committed: Evan Mannix, Player of the year: Craig McKenzie Vass
* U16 Best Newcomer: Christian Komosa, Most Committed: Adam Walsh, Player of the Year: Richard Wallace
* U18 Player of the year: Dylan Sheahan, Merit Awards: Conor Sheehan and Dylan McCarthy.
The club’s annual general meeting takes place on Wednesday, May 18 and all members and anyone who would like to come along would be more than welcome.
