Kieran Donaghy: New role with IT Tralee

THERE’S a hugely exciting season in store for the Institute of Technology Tralee’s football squad with a start-studded line-up added to the senior management team.

Legendary Kerry star Kieran Donaghy has been appointed to the position of joint manager for the 2019/20 academic year, teaming up with Liam Brosnan of Currow who has been at the helm for the last two years.

Donaghy got a taste of management when he joined the backroom team of Galway senior hurlers for 2019 season and he will put his years of experience and great motivational skills to good use with ITT.

“It’s my first venture into management and I learned a lot working with the Galway hurlers last year. I can’t wait to work with an amazing bunch of players and I hope we can represent the institute as best we can,” he said.

Another former Kerry star, Aidan O’Mahony, is also joining the management team as a selector and he will join Clive O’Callaghan of John Mitchels, Eoin O’Shea of Castlegregory and goalkeeping coach Joby Costello.

The new management team has a very exciting pool of players to work with including Kerry stars David Clifford, Gavin Crowley and Dara Moynihan with players of the calibre of Greg Horan, Jack Savage and Michael Potts of Dr Crokes also on the panel.
