The chaplain at the Munster Technological University in Tralee and former parish priest in Beaufort died unexpectedly at his home in Shinnagh, Rathmore.

He had previously served as a curate in Castletownbere and Listowel and people all over the county and nationally have been stunned and saddened by his passing, at the age of 61, with hundreds of moving tributes shared on the social media platform.

Predeceased by his parents David and Teresa and brother Tomás, Fr Donal is survived by his brothers Sean, Denis, David and Aidan, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, relations, neighbours, many friends and by Bishop Ray Browne and the priests of the Diocese of Kerry.
