Cookery show to promote Kerry as staycation capital

Paul Treyvaud: “Kerry is going to get a major boost”

A COOKERY show with a marked difference, featuring the culinary skills and colourful personality of a Killarney restaurateur, will be beamed into homes throughout the country for the next nine weeks, starting this Friday night.

Paul Treyvaud will star in his own travel and cooking show, Treyvaud Travels, which will air on Virgin Media One at 7.00pm.

The nine-part series will see the High Street restaurant owner travelling all over Ireland, meeting great characters and quality food producers, showcasing stunning locations and, most importantly, having a laugh cooking up some tantalising recipes.

Throughout his travels, Paul goes to Thomond Park, the home of Munster rugby, Navan Fort Centre, Dursey Island and many other great spots but Kerry is in for a treat as two episodes will be broadcast from the county.

“I am so proud that in the toughest tourist season of all, Kerry is going to get a major boost as I have an episode from Kenmare and another from Killarney,” Paul said.

“The Killarney episode will feature stunning locations and scenery, including the national park, the lakes and Cardiac Hill. We will take a trip on a jaunting car to Muckross House, sample the beer on offer from the Killarney Brewing Company and see just how easy it is to cook amazing food,” he added.

A Kerry company, Star Seafoods, has also been lined up as the headline sponsor of the Virgin Media One series.

“When the series starts I would ask everyone in Kerry to support it by tweeting with the hashtag #TreyvaudTravels so that every single small, family-run business has a chance to benefit of promoting a staycation.
