SEVENTEEN additional cases of Covid-19 were notified in Kerry this Wednesday, bringing the total number of infections in the county since the pandemic began to 1,032.
There have been 418 new cases of coronavirus in Kerry in the past fortnight.
Nationally today, a further six Covid-19 related deaths were reported bringing the total number of fatalities to 1,896.
An additional 675 cases of infection were identified and that brings the total number of people known to have contracted coronavirus since the onset of the pandemic to 59,434.
Of the cases notified this Wednesday, 364 are female, 309 are mala and 65 per cent are under 45 years of age. The median age is 35.
199 of the newly confirmed cases are in Dublin, 104 in Cork, 67 in Meath, 50 in Limerick and 41 in Kildare with the remaining 214 cases spread across another 20 counties, including the 17 notified Kerry.
As of 2.00pm today, 328 Covid-19 patients were hospitalised, of which 41 were being treated in intensive care units. There have been 19 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.
