
AS the county braces itself for the possibility of taking a severe battering from the remnants of Hurricane Lorenzo, Kerry County Council’s Severe Weather Management Team met this morning to make appropriate preparations.
The adverse weather conditions are forecast for later this week and while weather experts are still unsure if the storm will come this way, the various departments of Kerry County Council are making preparations in the normal way for the potential impact.
The council is monitoring forecasts from Met Éireann and will provide updates and advisories to the public as the week progresses. Updates will be provided on KillarneyToday.com as well as @countykerry on Twitter and the Kerry County Council’s Facebook page.
The council’s emergency coordination team,which involved senior council staff, emergency services, gardai and other experts, has met in advance of previous severe weather threats to determine the best course of action to take if and when the the worst fears are realised.
