A rousing afternoon of top quality music and entertainment, as well as a summertime barbecue, has generated an impressive €3,218 for a super cause – in just three and a half hours
The big event, organised by the Team Garvey charity champions, attracted a bumper crowd to Scott Street in Killarney on the June bank holiday Monday and all proceeds have been presented to the Irish Community Air Ambulance which provided a critical lifesaving and medical emergency service
The charity troupe, led by former Kerry Person of the Year recipient Denis Geaney – also used the day of music and song as a warm-up for the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle which will see them hit the road on Saturday, July 2.
There was a great line-up of musicians involved on the day, including Derry Healy, Neilie O’Connor, the Kelleher family from Fossa, Paud O’Donoghue, Dermot Moriarty, Peter Fleming, John Nolan, Aoife O’Neill and many more.
