A FORMER manager of the Killarney branch of Bank of Ireland has been appointed to the financial institution’s top job in the county.
Deirdre Twomey has taken over as head of Bank of Ireland in Kerry and she will oversee all aspects of business in the eight branches around the county.
The first women to be appointed to the demanding role, Deirdre is originally from Clare but she has been living in Kerry for 20 years and resides in Castleisland with her husband and child.
During her time as branch manager in Killarney, she was very actively involved in Killarney Rotary Club and she also spearheaded the Enterprise Town initiative which was a community-based project described as a business, community and sports expo to highlight the level of enterprise in Killarney.
