TAKING a brief break from intense preparations for Na Gaeil’s rapidly approaching Munster Junior Football Championship final clash, dynamic Kerry midfielder Diarmuid O’Connor proved a big hit with young players from the Milltown-Castlemaine GAA Club when he presented the awards at the annual club get-together.
O’Connor will be one of the star names on show for Na Gaeil when they take on Tipperary champions Mullinahone in the eagerly awaited provincial decider in Mallow on Sunday, December 8.
This follows their 3-20 to 0-2 demolition of Michael Cusack’s of Clare in the semi-final.
In the meantime, he availed of a rare opportunity away from the training ground to spend some time with the Milltown-Castleisland starlets, telling them that practice makes perfect and he expected many of them to be right up there with a shot of making the breakthrough into the Kerry team in the not too distant future.
