EAST Kerry full back Jack Sherwood has been chosen as the top player in this year’s Kerry Senior Football Championship.

The agile Firies defender, a regular with Peter Keane’s Kerry, made the all-star team for the second year in a row but this year he had the added honour of being named the best overall player on view.

The Garvey’s Team of the Championship, announced on Radio Kerry’s Terrace Talk last night, features eight of the East Kerry tea that made it two title wins in a row with five from beaten finalists Mid Kerry and one each from Dr Crokes and St Brendan’s.

Eight of the team are part of the Kerry inter county senior squad.
