A MASTERPLAN for the Áras Pádraig site and the Lewis Road car park is still a work in progress but proposals should be available for review in a matter of months, it has been confirmed.
Kerry County Council has appointed Reddy A+U architects to prepare a development plan for the Áras Pádraig property and the adjoining car park and a number of options are being considered, Killarney Municipal District Manager, Angela McAllen said in response to a query from Cllr Niall Kelleher.
An economic and financial cost benefit analysis is being carried out on each proposed option in accordance with the requirements of the public spending code.
Senior engineer, David Doyle, is overseeing the process on behalf of the council and proposals should be available for consideration by elected councillors by September.
In relation to the former Pretty Polly and Sara Lee site, Ms McAllen told Cllr Kelleher that the expression of interest process is underway and the council has engaged the services of a commercial and property services company to facilitate the process to select a preferred proposal.
