Farrell ladies keep it in the family on Lady Captain’s day

IT was certainly a case of Sister Act at Ross Golf Club when they took to the course for Lady Captain’s Mary Gorman’s big day.

Bríd Farrell played some brilliant golf to emerge triumphant on 38 points, just ahead of her sister, Betty, on 36 points.

Eileen Fleming was also in good form and finished on 33 points with Mary Moynihan (19 pts) taking the front nine prize and Margaret O’Donoghue (14 pts0 impressive on the back nine.

The past captain’s prize winner was Ann O’Leary (28 pts) and Liz Kelliher won the visitor’s prize on 23 points.

In the nine-hole single stapleford competition the results were:

  1. Mary O’Connor 22 pts
  2. Eileen O’Riordan 22 pts

Visitor prize: Myra Gorman 17 pts

The newcomer’s prize winner was Doreen Brosnan with a tie for second between Susan Good and Helen O’Carroll

The Lady Captain’s prize to the men was won by Larry Daly on 42 points.
