The rain had threatened to play spoilsport all day long but Santa’s elves worked their magic and the elements were very favourable for the first magic parade of the 2024 Christmas in Killarney Festival.
And what a show it turned out to be with great colour, spectacular floats, lively dancers, festive music and a magnificent atmosphere.
A convoy of vintage tractors, courtesy of the Killarney Valley Vintage and Veteran group, led the parade followed by the incredibly decorated floats, fun-filled Disney characters.
And, of course, Santa Claus himself added a real touch of magic to proceedings along the packed streets when he greeted the children and the young at heart from his lofty pedestal on his sleigh.
Those that missed out on the event can take consolation from the fact that they can return next Saturday night for yet another street spectacular.
