TWO Killarney Gardai swapped the beat for the bike in the town centre to help raise funds for and awareness of a very special cause.
Jamie Lenihan and Fiona Reidy hopped on the saddle on Main Street for a marathon spinathon in aid of Special Olympics Ireland.
They displayed great pedal power and they were joined by members of the Kerry Stars Special Olympics Club for the fun-filled event that was greatly received by the public.
Fiona and Jamie were more that well capable of completing the task given their great sporting prowess.
Fiona, of course, is a hugely talented senior Ireland rugby international while Jamie is a hurler of considerable renown and he also volunteers his time to pass on the skills of the game to young pupils in the Monastery in Killarney through a series of coaching clinics.
