A FUN flash mob will spring more than a few surprises on unsuspecting locals and visitors in Killarney this Thursday to raise funds for a really worthy cause.
It is being organised by Caitriona Fleming, the sister of hugely popular local man Brendan Heffernan, who passed away in 2013 as a result of cancer.
A flash mob of over 30 dancers from the Norrie King and Sheehan-Murphy Schools of Dance will come together to raise awareness of the Kerry Hospice Foundation.
In addition, Workmen’s Rowing Club will join with rowing enthusiast Brendan’s friends and family to remember him as his second anniversary approaches and to collect much-needed funds for the construction of the Hospice’s 16-bed inpatient unit at Kerry General Hospital.
The unit will provide an invaluable facility for patients and their families to be together when they need each other most and all those involved in this event want to contribute to that.
During Brendan’s illness he collected vigorously for many cancer centres and provided so much help to patients and their families.
Watch out for some fun surprises around town on Thursday afternoon and please support to the street collection in aid of Kerry Hospice.
Brendan’s anniversary Mass will take place on Sunday, September 6 at 8.00am in St Mary’s Cathedral, which is just around the corner from his home on St Margaret’s Road.
