Four deaths and 344 cases confirmed today

269 Covid-19 patients were in hospital early this afternoon with 32 in intensive care

SIX new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Kerry since midnight and that brings the total number of people infected with the virus in the county in the past 14 days to 106.

1,302 people in Kerry are now known to have contracted the illness since last March.

Nationally today, a further four deaths and 344 cases were confirmed. That brings the total number of coronavirus related fatalities to 2,022 while the number of people known to have been infected has risen to 70,143.

Early this afternoon, 269 Covid-19 patients were in hospital with 32 in intensive care. There have been 12 additional people hospitalised in the past 24 hours.

Of the cases notified today, 185 are female and 156 are male with 69 per cent under 45 years of age. The median age is 32.

127 of the new cases are in Dublin with 46 in Cork, 26 in Louth, 22 in Donegal and 20 in Limerick with the remaining 103 cases spread across 20 other counties, including the six in Kerry.
