Tralee Pitch and Putt Club has announced details of an exciting free open day, from 3.00pm to 8.00pm, on Friday, June 27 aimed at introducing juveniles and families to the game.
The supervised event will offer attendees a free round of pitch and putt, group coaching sessions with some of the top players in the club and a 10 per cent discount off family membership, with terms and conditions.
Those that don’t have clubs can rest assured that they will be provided, as necessary, on the day and everyone who attends will receive a generous €10 voucher towards the cost of new pitch and putt clubs from Hennebery’s Sports Tralee.
Chair of Tralee Pitch and Putt Club, Pa Curran, said this initiative will offer an opportunity for young people to explore a new sport within walking distance of their homes and to connect with new friends all year round, especially during the summer holidays.
“Pitch and Putt provides an opportunity for people of all ages to escape from their phones and devices for a couple of hours while enjoying some light exercise in the open air,” he said.
Club PRO, Tom O’Brien, remarked: “The committee has identified a need to attract more players to enjoy the facilities while benefitting from the exercise, fresh air and a sense of belonging to a club.
“I hadn’t picked up a golf club for years until after my late wife, Marie, passed away in 2022. That’s when I discovered Tralee Pitch and Putt ClubIt was like joining another family and it has ultimately helped me through the grieving process while learning something new and fun”.
Tom said it doesn’t matter if people have not played pitch and putt before because as bad as they might think you are, they can only get better.
Tralee Pitch and Putt Club will be celebrating 60 years at the end of 2025. To find out more about the free juvenile and family open day, go to www.traleepitchandputt.com or just show up on the day.
