There was no shortage of action or excitement at the Ross Golf Club in Killarney at the weekend where lady captain Breda O’Farrell’s prize, sponsored by Celtic Steps, was up for grabs.

A total of 32 ladies took to the course on the day with the honours in the nine-hole competition going to Susan Good who edged out Caitríona Shanahan and Mary Shanahan.
In the 18-hole competition the victor was Mary Moynihan who had too much firepower on the day for second placed Kaye Cremin as well as Eileen Fleming and Thérèse O’Keeffe.
The past captains’ prize winner was Bridie Brosnan, the front nine prize went to Éilís O’Sullivan and the back nine victor was Bernie Reen.
Máire Murphy took the visitor’s prize while lady captain Breda O’Farrell herself won the men’s captain Donie Broderick’s prize for the ladies.
