Health and well-being the main priority

THE Circuit of Kerry Rally, which had been scheduled for April 5, has been postponed as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

The Kerry Motor Club, in line with guidelines issued by government agencies and the Health Service Execurive, have taken the decision to call off the eagerly awaited event due to the global outbreak of Covid-19.

“Our priority is the health and well-being of all competitors, their families and our local community,” said Clerk of the Course Eoin Duffin.

He thanked the competitors who entered, sponsors, volunteers and all the residents along the planned route for their support and patience.

Although the rally was scheduled for April 5, which is currently beyond the restriction date, the club said consideration has to be given to the timeline and amount of preparation required by competitors.

“We wish to advise that Kerry Motor Club have already been in discussion with Motorsport Ireland who have fully supported this decision and will endeavour to run the event on an alternative date,” Eoin Duffin added.
