THE allocation of funding of over €2.6 million for Kerry under the government’s July stimulus plan has been welcomed by Deputy Danny Healy-Rae and Cllrs Maura and Johnny Healy-Rae.
The funding includes €100,000 to replace the bridge at Gort in Kilgarvan, €37,500 for Gortlahard Road, €75,000 for Coomoughla Road, €50,000 for Inchees Road and €40,000 for Morley’s Bridge.
Deputy Johnny Healy-Rae brought a deputation to Kerry County Council seeking funding for a footpath at the church in Kilgarvan and €30,000 has now been allocated for this work to be done
“I want to thank the local engineer and council staff for acting promptly and working late and early to ensure that these roads were opening up,” said Deputy Danny Healy-Rae.
