With a personal honours list reflecting her remarkable dedication to the green and gold over 16 years, Louise Ní Mhuircheartaigh collected her fifth All-Star award at a gala banquet in the Bonnington Hotel in Dublin on Saturday night.

The stylish corner forward previously received awards in 2012, 2013, 2022 and 2023 but the latest one was the sweetest of all as she has an eagerly-awaited All-Ireland medal to put alongside it.

The previous night Louise was also honoured with the Gaelic Writers’ Association GAA Personality of the Year and she revealed at the awards ceremony that she is still undecided on whether or not she will line out with Kerry in 2025.

The 2024 All-Stars

The An Ghaeltacht woman, who teaches in Tralee and lives in Killarney, is now aged 32 and she was just 16 when she first wore the green and gold at senior level.

Asked if she will continue to play on with the county, Louise replied: “I don’t really know”.

She added: “It’s obviously going over and back in my head, what to do,” adding that she will take more time to think it through.

It was a particularly memorable night for Kerry at the All-Stars with the county winning no less than seven awards from 15 nominations.

Joining Louise on the podium were goalkeeper Ciara Butler, midfielder Anna Galvin and corner forward Danielle O’Leary who were all winning their first All-Star, team captain Niamh Carmody who previously won in 2022 and 2023, wing back Aishling O’Connell who was adding to the award she won in 2022 and Dr Crokes stalwart Kayleigh Cronin, at full back, who was also a previous winner in 2022.
