Houses in and around town are in big demand

OVER €3.8 million worth of property was sold in Killarney in the past month with 19 house sales included in the latest Residential Property Price Register.

Officials figures show that between February 2 and March 3 properties in several parts of town and in the surrounding areas were in big demand.

Some local auctioneers have claimed that demand is now completely out-stripping supply and that not enough houses are being built in Killarney to meet requirements.

The Residential Property Price Register is produced by the Property Services Regulatory Authority and it includes the date of sale, price and address of all residential properties purchased in Ireland since 1 January 2010, as declared to the Revenue Commissioners for stamp duty purposes.
