Jason powers Ireland to Youth Olympics final

Yet another athlete from the progressive Killarney Valley Athletic Club is making his mark on the international circuit.

Jason O’Reilly brilliantly anchored the Irish medley relay team at the European Youth Olympics in Slovakia this Friday morning.

And displaying great pace and power, they finished second in their heat to qualify for the glamour final which will take place at 9.15am on this Saturday morning.

Jason, another very promising young athlete from Killarney Valley AC, specialises in the 400m. He has blossomed into a top class athlete over the last few years as he fine-tuned his skills and stamina at the club’s state-of-the-art arena on the grounds of St Brendan’s College.

The standard of coaching at the club, provided by former Irish internationals Tomas Griffin, Alan Delaney and Con Lynch been recognised by the athletics community in Ireland and beyond and, currently, there are 11 international athletes, either past or present, in the club.
