INFLUENTIAL midfielder Johnny Buckley has been given green light to line out in the All-Ireland club football final on St Patrick’s Day.
A one-match ban, imposed after he was very harshly red carded in the semi-final victory over Mullinalaghta, was overturned after an appeal to the GAA’s Central Hearings Committee this Thursday night.
The Dr Crokes club’s appeal was based on camera footage from behind the goals which captured an exchange between the former Kerry star and an opponent.
It’s a massive boost for the Kerry and Munster champions as Buckley is one of their key players and midfield is one area that the club does not have too many options.
The all-action midfielder skippered the black and amber to their last All-Ireland club success in 2017.
