Kerry business leaders out in force for €3m launch

IT was like a who’s who of Kerry business life in Killorglin today for the launch of the new €3 million research partnership between local financial services giant Fexco, Science Ireland and UCC.

A dozen research positions will be created immediately with the scope for further employment opportunities as the four-year project progresses.

Minister for Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, Paschal Donohoe, was in Killorglin to officially launch the Fintechnext collaboration which is a financial technology research agreement between the three partners.

“’The value of collaboration and of what we can achieve by working together is clear for all to see, with real benefits for the local and the wider economy and society, Minister Donohoe said.

Concentrating on the key areas of foreign exchange, digital taxation and corporate asset administration, the research team will be co-located between UCC and Fexco in Killorglin, where the company already employs over 1,000 of its global 2,300 strong workforce.
