Killarney clubs get fair share of €200,000 grants

Killarney Celtic FC has been awarded €1,900

Several Killarney clubs have benefited from the Kerry Recreation and Sports Partnership’s grants with a total of €207,565 approved to support 133 projects in the county.

Cllr Michael Cahill said the funding is hugely important to all of the clubs and organisations who, but for their volunteers who give freely of their time, would simply would not survive.

“These grants are just a small acknowledgement of the great work carried out by these clubs and especially all the volunteers,” said the Kerry Fianna Fáil general election candidate.

  • Currow/Currans Community Games:  €1,100

  • Emerald Eagles FC Killarney: €800
  • Firies GAA: €2,000
  • Flesk Valley Rowing Club, Killarney: €1,800
  • St Agatha’s GAA Club and Community Centre, Glenflesk: €1,900
  • Gneeveguilla Basketball Club: €1,000
