A VERY active Killarney-based heart awareness group has provided and installed a Powerheart AED defibrillator on the wall of St Mary’s Parish Hall.

Tested to military standards, it has been funded and it will be maintained by the Heart of Killarney organisation which is a support group for those who wish to learn more about heart conditions, those who have experienced cardiac episodes and their families.

Working with Killarney First Responders, HeartBeat will be organising a training night for anyone interested in learning how to use the AED as well CPR in mid-January.

The defibrillator is located at the O’Sullivan’s Place gable end of the parish hall, adjacent to the car park.

Heartbeat was founded by local man Billy DF O’Sullivan and it has been providing a vital, service in Killarney for several years, with regular meetings and informative talks organised in the Serenity Centre on St Anne’s Road.
