TWO fundraising coffee mornings are being planned for two very worthy local causes and the people of Killarney are being asked to turn out in force to support them.
The first is this Saturday upstairs in the Killarney Plaza Hotel to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society.
Organised by Lauren Ní Shúilleabháin, in association with Boots and the Irish Cancer Society, it will run from 9.45am to 12 noon and all donations will be welcome and greatly appreciated.
There will be face painting lined up to keep the children amused while the adults enjoy a coffee, some tasty treats and a chat and there will also be a raffle with some super prizes.
Another fundraising coffee morning will be held on Thursday next in the Cahernane House Hotel, Killarney in aid of Down Syndrome Kerry and to mark World Down Syndrome Day.
Starting at 10.00am and continuing until 12.30pm, patrons are being invited to wear “mad odd socks” to add to the fun, if the mood takes them.
Organised by Simone Leahy and Nicola Browne, those that support the event can enjoy tea, coffee, scones, cupcakes and other treats.
