The theme for this year’s St Patrick’s Day festival and parade in Killarney will be very much in keeping with the now corporate logo designed for the town which features the strapline Experience More.
The new brand and logo are part of the Killarney Destination Experience Development project – in association with Fáilte Ireland – which is an exciting and comprehensive five-year development plan for the town.

As well as painting the town green, organisers of the bumper annual festival have encouraged local businesses, clubs, community groups and individuals to join in the festivities this year to help inform everybody of the positive direction Killarney is taking and to promote the new branding to the world.
While based on the Experience More theme, entries for the parade are asked to outline what the Killarney experience means to them, whether it’s the lakes and mountains, the national park or the shopping experience, the culture, the music, the stories, the legends, the heroes or the people.
“The new brand has been developed with Fáilte Ireland in conjunction with Kerry County Council and multiple other Killarney stakeholders who have a shared vision to make Killarney a best in class tourist destination,” said St Patrick’s Festival voluntary chairman Paul Sherry.
“We want to make this St Patrick’s Day parade the best the town has ever seen and we invite the people to dazzle us with their imagination and interpretation of the theme,” he said.
“As always, we ask them to make it visual, make it noisy, create a performance but most of all, have fun as it is our intention to paint the town green and we look forward to everybody joining the party,” Mr Sherry said.
The parade will take place on Friday, March 17th commencing at 2.00pm.
Applications will be online this year and information can be found on the online portal until Wednesday, March 1st, at https://stpatricksfestivalkillarney.ie/parade-application-form/.
