Gearoid Cronin, Brian McCarthy and Ben Kelliher, representing Deerpark Pitch and Putt Club in Killarney, were on the Munster team that lost to Leinster in the National Under 16 Inter Provincial Challenge in Lakeside, Co Tipperary last Saturday.
While the under 16 section finished level at 4.5 apiece between the provinces, Leinster’s better result in the ladies gave them a 10.5-7.5 victory overall.
It was a great, nevertheless, an honour to represent their club, county and province on the day.
Meanwhile, the Deerpark under 16 matchplay competition saw Brian McCarthy defeat Adam Shine in the championship final while Aodhan O’Halloran was successful in the plate decider against Luke Looney.
