The Killeeen House Hotel in Killarney was one of the major winners at this year’ s CIE Tours Awards of Excellence presented at a gala reception in Dublin.
The hotel in Aghadoe, which houses the milti-award winning Rozzers Restaurant, was deemed the winner of the special dining feature prize which is one of the most sought-after accolades as it centres around the quality of the cuisine, the service and the ambience.
Launched in 1990, the awards recognise Ireland’s hospitality ambassadors and the people and businesses throughout the country who put Irish tourism on the global stage through the warmth of welcome and quality of service provided to visitors.
This year’s awards were presented at EPIC – The Irish Emigration Museum in Dublin – on Wednesday and the results were based on post-stay feedback received from nearly 20,000 customers surveyed throughout 2022.
Each of the CIE Tours’ partners who qualified for an award, delivered an exceptional quality experience and welcome to visitors, achieving a customer satisfaction rating of over 92 per cent.
Other Kerry winners on the night were the Ballygarry Estate Hotel and Spa in Tralee which won the best hotel dinner award and Brendan Ferris Sheep Dog Trials in Beaufort who won the national heritage award.
Merit Awards were also presented to hotels and tourist attractions that achieved a customer rating of 92 per cent or higher and the recipients included The Brehon, Killarney Great Southern Killarney, Killarney Horse and Carriage Tours, Killarney Plaza Hotel, Killarney Avenue Hotel, Killarney Towers Hotel, Dingle Skellig Hotel, Killarney Horse and Carriage Tours, Tangney Tours Jaunting Cars, John B Keane’s pub in Listowel and the South Pole Inn.
