Killarney Celtic FC News

CELTIC’S A team qualified for Greyhound Bar KO Cup final by virtue of a 3-1win over Premier B side Mitchel’s Avenue. Wayne Sparling had Celtic up and running after his opener which was followed by another from Peter McCarthy.

Avenue pulled a goal back but any hopes of a shock were finished off by a match clinching goal by Gary Keane. Celtic now await the winners of Killorglin v Killarney Athletic.

Premier B: Killarney Celtic B 3 CSKA 1. This was a huge win for the B team in their battle again relegation. Keelin Deegan (2) and Ryan Kelliher got the vital goals here.

Youths: The cup final replay finished Park 2 Killarney Celtic 0. Park were deserving winners on the day in the replay of the Jimmy Falvey Memorial Youths Cup Final

Under 15: In the cup final Killarney Celtic beat Park 2-1 after extra time. The Healy Family Cup came our way after a dramatic finish in extra time. Celtic started very well and could have been well ahead only for the Park keeper.

The breakthrough came at the start of the second half when Joshua Livingstone finished to the net. But the Park came back to equalise and so we headed to extra time. Penalties were looming until Cian McMahon hit a bullet of a shot to the net to seal the win.

Under14: The cup semi-final finished Killarney Celtic 1 Park 5. In a game which also doubled as a league game our under 14s gave their all but ran out of steam against a strong Park team. Callum O’Grady got the goal.

Under 13. The cup final result was Killarney Celtic 3 Killorglin 1. Eoghan Crowley (2) and Jack O’Sullivan got the goals here to secure the John Joe Naughton Cup for Celtic. Nattingan Ryan picked up the man-of-the-match award.

Under 13 Premier: Killarney Athletic 1 Killarney Celtic 3. Goals from Eoghan Crowley, Luke O’Neill and Cathal Kelly kept the 13A team in the running for the league title.

Under 12 Premier: Park 1, Killarney Celtic A 1. Try as they might the 12A team could not secure the vital win required to force a playoff with Killorglin. Jamie Moynihan scored our only goal and so the team finish second to a very good Killorglin team.
