A MAN who has dedicated enormous time, energy and effort to the Killarney-London Association, helping to forge stronger links between the two communities, is to be honoured for his commitment.
Kerry County Council member Donal Grady will be the recipient of the prestigious Person of the Year award at this year’s Killarney-London Reunion which will be held in the UK capital in November.
Cllr Grady has been involved with the organisation for the past 45 years and he has worked tirelessly to ensure it continues to prosper and that strong bonds are maintained.
The Association provides an important connection with home for Killarney people living in the UK and the annual reunion is the social highlight of the year, where old acquaintances are renewed and new friendships are formed.
He will receive his award at a gala function in the Claddagh Ring in Hendon on Saturday, November 21.
Previous recipients of the Person of the Year award include Dan Grimes, Fr Tom Looney, Sheila Dickson and the late Cllr Michael Courtney who was honoured posthumously.
