CARING members of Killarney Macra are making an extra special effort this festive season in support of the residents of St Columbanus Home in Killarney.

They have organised a Christmas Gifts Appeal to help add a little extra sparkle to the celebrations for the residents in what has been a very challenging year for everyone.

“We aim to give every resident something a little extra this Christmas and bring a little extra joy to its residents,” said Macra PRO Siobhan Deering.

The Macra members are seeking donations of gifts from the public and, to ensure sanitation requirements are met, presents should not be wrapped but can be placed in gift bags.

Items that would be particularly beneficial include mindfulness colouring books, paint brushes and colouring pens, word search and crossword books, socks, nail varnish, hand cream, manicure sets, shower gel, scratch cards, art supplies and wool for knitting and gifts for both ladies and men are needed.

Arrangements can be made to have gifts collected and the last date for doing so is December 15.

Those wishing to contribute can contact the Macra na Feirme Facebook page and a suitable drop-off or collection time can be arranged.
