A MAN who sustained injuries after a fall from a height in Killarney town centre this evening has been airlifted to hospital for treatment.
The accident occurred at the rear of a building on College Street and the man, understood to be in his 40s, suffered a gash to his head and injuries to his ribs and leg when he fell from a ladder.
An ambulance, paramedics, a unit of the fire service and gardai were in attendance and emergency first aid was administered the scene.
An decision was taken to summon a medical service helicopter from its base in Millsteet and it landed in the grounds of Killarney Outlet Centre where the victim was brought to meet it.
The injured man was flown to Cork University Hospital for treatment and his injuries are not said to be life-threatening.
