A workman has been airlifted to hospital after sustaining injuries in an apparent fall from a ladder on Killarney’s New Street this Friday.
The incident is understood to have occurred earlier this afternoon and the victim, who was painting a building, suffered serious arm injuries in the fall.
An ambulance and fire service personnel attended the scene and a decision was made to transfer the man by air ambulance to hospital.
He was transported by ambulance to Killarney National Park, near Killarney House and Gardens, where a helicopter landed to transfer him to Cork University Hospital.
It is understood that the man’s injuries are not life threatening but the injury to his arm is quite extensive.
